“WHAT!?! Melea J Brock will tell stories for a whole evening? She hasn’t done one of those evenings since 2011.”
“Well then, what has she been doing?”
“Since 2012, Melea has been writing & publishing – a Christmas book and plays – a dream of hers (her first play was in 1974 – “Broadarella” – “Cinderella” on roller skates!).
“She’s been directing, co-producing plays, too, guiding others in using them. She’s been mentoring young artists and refreshing seasoned ones. She did have open-heart surgery in 2023 – oh, you didn’t know that. Go read her BIO for more details. And let’s not forget we all shared in a pandemic and shied away from group gatherings of most every kind. Let’s give the gal a pat of the back – as she’s still following her ‘calling’ and vocation. In fact, let’s give a “Hoorah!” to any artist doing this today. Much has changed in our culture and media-driven reality concerning stories & storytelling no matter what kind of creative art form one carries.”
“Melea would like to pose this question for all of us: “Can we all sit still, put our phones away, and listen to a story for 10 – 20 minutes? Can we open up our own story to hear what that story might be saying to ours … and then, have dessert & coffee and talk about them?”
“WE CAN? I was hoping you’d say that… Then let’s do this… Storynight 2026 – we’re comin’ for you!”
